Cochrane Artificial Reef
A scuba diving adventure that has it all!

Great schools of Giant and Golden Trevally, and metre long Barracuda & Spanish Mackerel congregate around the underwater superstructures of this artificial reef. Schooling pelagic species are constantly on the move balling up bait. Ship wrecks, sunken planes, steel structures and the water tower. This artificial reef has it all!
These underwater monoliths have become an oasis with vibrantly coloured marine creatures.
Giant Queensland Grouper and Estuary Cod inhabit lightships, the sunken barge, the planes and the dredge.
Snapper, super sized Mangrove Jack and other large predatory fish lie in wait for a tastie morsel to swim by.
Spotted Leopard Rays, Bull Rays and large Wobbegong Sharks lie on the sandy sea floor.
Turtles can be spotted resting in and around their favourite haunt. The graceful sea snake glides harmlessly by.
It's a diver's visual smorgasbord down there!

Evans Patch and Barjon Wreck Diving
Rarely visited scubing diving locations
Evans Patch and the Barjon Wreck are two diving sites rarely visited by scuba divers. These scuba diving sites are remote, isolated places only the locals tend to know about.
Evans Patch
The water 13 nautical miles offshore from Bundaberg is clear, azure and nutrient rich. Alone in the great sandy stretch of the Coral Sea, the Evans Patch acts as an oasis for an incredible array of marine life.
Manta Rays frequent this area and squadrons of Eagle Rays are commonly seen. Super sized Cod patrol their patch of turf while Golden Trevally and Barracuda continually circle above. Tropical and subtropical reef fish can be seen here in large schools.
Then there's the reef itself. A variety of hard and soft coral makes up this small reef that rises only a metre off the vast sandy bottom of the Coral Sea. This reef patch is a honeycomb type structure full of surprises waiting to be explored. The elusive Leopard Shark and many curious Moray Eels call this place home.
Bull Rays, Spotted Leopard Rays and large Wobbegong Sharks lie on the surrounding sea floor.

Barjon Wreck Diving Trip

Only a few nautical miles north from Evans Patch, lies the sunken remains of a fishing trawler called the Barjon. This wreck lies fixed to the sandy sea floor in 23m of clear water off the coast of Bundaberg. Fishing nets and rigging drape the shell of the hull that is all that remains of the Barjon trawler.
It is a special haunt for a myriad of fish species. Reef fish can be seen here in large schools as are the ever present pelages. Large Cobia and Manta Rays are often present patrolling nearby waters as well as the odd Wobbegong and Leopard Shark. It's always a treat to dive the Barjon!
These scuba diving trips are only 45 minutes away from the Bundaberg Port after a fast, fun ride aboard our purpose built vessel Little Ripper. With Jarrod and his experienced dive crew on board you will be able to relax and thoroughly enjoy these scuba diving trips.
